As the year comes to an end, it’s nice to look back at Elska adventures past… here I am with stacks of Elska Collectors’ Cards from our first year, packing them into little sets.

It’s also a good time to wish for the future, and I guess my wish will be that I can continue to still make Elska Magazine not just for next year but for many years to come. And if I can get one more wish, it’d be to maybe see a few of these lads again one day. Hmm – shall we start planning for a 5-year reunion party? Dreams.

(Bryan P – Toronto)

So it’s almost time for the Elska Toronto issue to exit the spotlight and make way for the next Elska city. So I thought it appropriate to say farewell with a pic of the guy who was the first Elska boy shot in Toronto, Bryan P. He was a lovely lad who I’d love to see again one day… hey Bryan, message me sometime if you’ll be in London! Or maybe one day I’ll be back in Toronto. Who knows?

(Matt O – Toronto)

When I read the story Matt O wrote for us for our Toronto project, I was so in awe. This guy has so much comfort and courage that I totally lack. He talks about his conquests, his beach cottaging, his good times… and I’ve never been able to be so carefree. Maybe I need to break off the shackles of shyness, or maybe I just need to accept the way I am, or maybe I need Matt to take me with him out sometime and teach me how to get over myself.

(Daniel J – San José)

Another from the vault of pre-Elska pics, this pic of Daniel J was taken during a trip to San José, Costa Rica to do some fashion shoots and portfolio work. I met some amazing people there and would love to return to do an Elska issue, but it’s one of those cases of the format being a potential problem. You see, every Elska is based on a city, and so “Elska San José” would be the obvious solution, but I really didn’t care for the Costa Rican capital. It lacked character and felt a bit dodgy to be honest. Rather it was out in the country where Costa Rica really shined, but can I really make an issue called “Elska Random Villages and Beach Towns of Costa Rica”?! I’ll have to figure this one out!

Maybe one day there will be an issue in Costa Rica, but for now see our website to pick up other Elska editions.
